AI and Reproductive Rights in the Amazon:
technological challenges and potentialities for citizenship

The use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) is a technological phenomenon with profound impacts on social reality. In the field of health, the discussion regarding Sexual and Reproductive Rights (SRR) is fundamental; however, it is still in its infancy in the Amazonian context. This study critically analyzes the intersection between health and digital literacy, given the precarious nature of technological access and the unfavorable indicators related to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) in Amazonas, with a focus on inequality and gender-based violence. This bibliographic and qualitative study investigates the social dilemmas surrounding access to SRH within the regional context, adopting a feminist perspective on the bodies and citizenship of girls and women, linked to an intersectional approach that considers gender, race, class, and territory. The central issue concerns both the weaknesses and the potential of AI as a tool for accessing SRHR in resource-constrained contexts. It is concluded that AI can contribute positively to the realization of the human rights of girls and women, provided that the ethical dimension and governance strategies duly consider the specificities of the Amazonian reality.
